The EPA tests vehicles to get the estimated city and highway fuel economy that is displayed on vehicles' window stickers... The EPA says the current tests don't reflect real-world driving. Here are some assumptions made by the current tests compared to more recent data from the EPA. The EPA calculates velocity in miles per hour per second...
