Cut - Germany - Ford Subsidiary May Cut 1,200 Jobs
COLOGNE, Germany -AP -4 Nov 2005: -- The German subsidiary of automaker Ford Motor Co. said Friday it is looking to cut 1,200 jobs in Germany by the end of the year... Erik Walner, a Ford spokesman, said the move would see the number of workers at the Cologne plant trimmed from 19,000 to 18,000 by the end of the year. The remaining cuts would come at other Ford facilities around the country... Nearly all of the cuts are expected to come from voluntary layoffs, with affected workers receiving severance pay and employment training and placement services...
