Questions - USA - Combating Rising Costs

Akron,PA,USA -Layover, by Chett Winchell -21/9/05:--) A lot of questions are being asked on how to save money. These questions range from how to train drivers for better utilization of time and equipment to when to park the trucks and quit. Companies are especially looking at every possible way to decrease the highest expenditure item in the budget--fuel... Are you doing what is necessary and not always convenient for you to help control costs?... Have you been watching the cost on the fuel slips? Aren't you glad you don't have to pay that bill?... Are you treating your truck as a profit center?... Are you treating those "company" purchases with regard to assisting the company in saving money?... What could your company use that money for?... When unloading, do you shut our truck off?... What is your idle time percentage? Why idle all the time?... What is the next time maintenance is due on your truck?... These are but a few of the things that a driver can do to assist in reducing the cost of being on the road...
