Production - Brazil - Ford to increase production
Brazil -The Car Connection, by Fernando Calmon -22 Sept 2005 :-) Ford is looking for ways to increase production at its factory in Camaçari, State of Bahia, where the Fiesta and the EcoSport are built. The plant is already running on three shifts and will end 2005 having built many more vehicles than the plant's 250,000-unit nominal capacity. The local and foreign market growth forecasts point out that by the end of 2006, an increase of 70,000 units yearly would be desirable for Ford. The company, however, is reluctant to make new investments in the facility, opting for productivity gains and the overcoming of minor bottlenecks that disturb production increase instead....
