Chicago,ILL,USA -The Chicago Tribune -10 Aug 2005: -- The city of Chicago is facing yet another scandal as the unrelated federal investigation of the Hired Truck program begins to draw to a close... According to an investigative report, three city workers were given city truck-driving licenses without completing the necessary two-week training, because of their ties with former Streets and Sanitation Commissioner Al Sanchez... Sanchez, who retired in June, asked another worker to certify that the three men – one of whom was Sanchez’s personal driver – had completed the training and were ready to drive city trucks...
