Prices - France - French Won't Follow Belgians
Paris,France -TNN News (UK) - Aug 2005: -- With the world oil price still at a record high, pressure has been increasing on the French government to follow the lead of the Belgians and aid those hit in the pocket by current fuel prices... But, the options for the French government are limited. Despite the fact that a deliberate decrease in the price of fuel might help France's lacklustre finances, the country is running with an increasing trade deficit and public debt of more then €1,000bn... A reduction in government revenue now would seem to be more than the economy can take...
