TECHNOLOGY - UK - New solution for tyred old problem
UK -Transport News Network -Apr 2005: -- Every year 32 million car tyres and nearly 4 million truck tyres are scrapped. Despite many uses now being found for them, some 190,000 tonnes still end up in landfill sites each year, a method which will be banned by 2006... A new distillation process under development by a Flintshire, North Wales firm UTDR Research is timely.
