Scenes from Truckfest * UK - Have you ever wondered what's worn under the kilt....?

Those Scots surely have a sense of humour

Peterborough,UK -Biglorryblog -8 May 2007: -- ... Wandering around the truck park at Truckfest last Sunday (the truck park is by far the most interesting place to be at Peterborough) I couldn't help but admire this rather nationalistic piece of airbrushing on an FH12.460 Volvo belonging to Douglas F Mitchell of Laurencekirk... All of which reminds me of the classic joke involving the spinster and the old kilt-wearing Scotsman... Of ourse, to get the full impact of this artwork you've got to be running solo...but that's just being pedantic don't you think?...

Work of Art * USA - Sometimes a truck can be one

Tecumseh,MI,USA -The Adrian Daily Telegram (Adrian,MI), by David Panian -May 7, 2007: -- Bo Trout has been a truck driver for 29 years and decorating and showing trucks for about nine years. Now he is president of a national “show truck” group that will host a truck show in Tecumseh in May... Trout, owner of Bogie’s Express Inc. of Tecumseh, said anywhere from 35 to 60 truckers will bring their colorfully painted and lit rigs to the Great Lakes Truck Show on May 18-20 at the Pamida store. It is one of eight National Association of Show Trucks shows this year... Each show truck owner decorates their rigs differently, Trout said. Some choose brightly colored patterns, while others have specific images, such as one driver who is a “Pirates of the Caribbean” fan and another from Canada whose truck displays a Canadian flag and a lynx. Some trick out their trucks with hydraulics to raise and lower the cabs. Chrome is still a popular accent... Works of Art * USA - Yonkers garbage trucks become in

Yonkers,NY,USA -The Journal News.com (Westchester,NY), by HANNAN ADELYTHE -May 3, 2007: -- A banana peel, a trash-chomping dinosaur, a pristine river view. Those are among the images that Yonkers residents will soon find in an unlikely place - on their garbage trucks... Six trucks were transformed into mobile displays of public art as part of a program in partnership with the Yonkers Office of Economic Development and Yonkers Business Week 2007, which is now under way. After a months-long competition that drew some 200 entries from around the county, the six winners were unveiled yesterday at an event at Empire City at the Yonkers Raceway... TRUCKS Cab Concept * Germany - The MOTIS

Or how to have a shave and a shower (and anything else for that matter) in your truck cab !!!

Hannover,Germany -Biglorryblog (UK) -16 Mar 2007: -- ... the MoTIS cab concept (it stands for Modular Truck Interior System) which was launched at last September's Hanover truck show and provides some alternative ideas on how to best use the space in a top weight artic. The designs come out of conversations with professional HGV drivers and have been developed by a Pfzorzheim-based company called Hymer idc which has already worked with various truck manufacturers as well as recreational vehicle makers... The resulting options appear to have been based around an Actros cab but provide food for thought on what could be delivered inside your average artic which let's face it is little more than a steel box measuring roughly 2.5 x 2.0 x 1.8m... The bathroom module would be a Godsend for any HGV driver parked in an isolated layby or stuck in an RDC with an awkward jobsworth security guard who won't let you use the toilets as it comes with its own self contained, odourless (it would have to be) toilet, sink and shower stall..and speaking of which here's a happy chappie enjoying a hot shower thanks to MoTIS...

Nice Jaws * Sweden - ... Welcome the Shark!!!

Another smart truck from Scania's wonderful image bank

Sweden -Biglorryblog (UK) -12 Feb 2007: -- ... I told you that Scania's wonderful picture library contained some very groovy photos---including this rather nice airbrushed 4-Series R-Cab tractor called 'The Shark' (for obvious reasons). Only those sculptured side valances and curving wheel arches are Sooooo nineties! Meanwhile, we suggests you check out the Swedish truck maker's image bank in a quiet moment as they have some great shots of Scanias past and present which would make terrific wallpaper for a PC. There now, don't say I never tell you anything... (Picture: Scania's wonderful image bank)
