NEW LOAD APP "XYpper" * USA: For truckers finding freight in U.S., Canada, Mexico

* Florida - XYpper  app: A Web-based system for the trucking industry 
--- XYpper Inc. has developed and launched an app- and Web-based system for the trucking industry in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, allowing owner-operators and freight brokers to harness the power of Web and mobile technology to connect, greatly improving efficiencies and increasing profit for both the truckers and brokers, according to Valerio Lanzieri, founder and president... The XYpper app works similarly to Uber and other “sharing economy” apps, by directly connecting individuals who have a need with someone who can perform a service — in XYpper’s case, connecting freight brokers who have loads that need to be delivered with truckers who are either in their geographical area or on their way, Lanzieri said... Brokers post their load information online though a Web-based portal, and truckers are alerted via the app in real time...

CONVOY INC. * USA: Deal with Unilever

* Washington - Trucking startup Convoy inks its biggest deal with Unilever


--- Convoy Inc., a Seattle-based startup that aims to become an Uber for trucking, has struck its biggest deal yet -- with consumer goods giant Unilever... The four-year agreement will have Convoy connect Unilever to trucks for tens of thousands of shipments a year and is worth millions of dollars over the next year, Convoy Chief Executive Officer Dan Lewis said in an interview. Unilever, the company behind Dove soap, Hellmann's mayonnaise and Lipton tea, chose Convoy over several other trucking technology providers, the company said... The deal is a vote of confidence in Convoy, which uses software to match companies needing tractor-trailers with smaller providers, line up deliveries and track them to better ensure on-time pickup and receipt. It's particularly important as car ride-hailing app Uber Technologies Inc. gets into the freight market through its acquisition of Otto...
