Complain * Canada - Small trucking companies about Port system

A move by local port authorities to stop the scalping of reservations for container shipments has sparked complaints from smaller truck companies

* Canada - VPA reservations limited to fleet size

The Vancouver Port Authority has cut back on the number of reservations allowed to container carriers with five or fewer trucks

Vancouver,BC,CAN -Today's Trucking -2 July 2007: -- ... Starting today under a trial initiative, Deltaport, Vanterm and Centerm will restrict the number of reservations to two reservations per truck per terminal per day for any company with five VPA-registered trucks or fewer. Fraser Surrey Docks has also agreed to participate once systems for its new reservation system have been finalized... Larger fleets, who complained that they could not access the reservations system (especially at Deltaport), had been urging that the VPA make the change so that carriers receive fair access to available reservations proportionate to their size...
