AWARD * USA - Overdrive '2009 Trucker of the Year' named

AWARD * Canada - Local trucking company honoured

Winnipeg,Manitoba,Canada -The Winnipeg Sun -30 Mar 2007: -- For the second straight year, Winnipeg’s Bison Transport has been named the safest trucking company in North America by the Truckload Carriers Association... Bison won in the category for fleets driving more than 25 million miles a year. The company was also deemed the safest for fleets driving more than 100 million miles annually... Based in Winnipeg since 1969, Bison Transport is one of Canada’s largest transport companies... The company employs more than 1,500 people and runs more than 900 tractors...

Awards * Australia - Nominate top drivers for 2007 trucking industry awards

The winner of the 2007 award, presented by the Australian Trucking Association (ATA), will undertake this year’s Tarcutta to Tamworth safety drive with ATA chief Stuart St Clair... Nomination * Canada - Three trucking companies among 50 best managed in Canada

Maritime-Ontario Freight Lines of Brampton, Ont., H&R Transport of Lethbridge, Alta., and Armour Transportation Systems of Moncton, N.B. have each won one of the prestigious 2006 Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies awards. AWARD * Canada - New contest to $50,000 truck makeover to Canadian O/O

Castrol is asking contestants to write a 50-75 word essay on why their rig should be overhauled and submit a photo for judging. A panel will decide on the best submission and award the Big Rig Overhaul. Orangeville, Ont.-based Fully Loaded Customs, a specialist in big rig customization, will design and build the overhaul with the driver’s input...
