* West Bengal - 80 per cent truckers join nationwide lorry strike

--- There are apprehensions that the indefinite strike, which commenced from April 1, would lead to a scarcity in availability of perishable goods... Truck operators in West Bengal on Monday claimed that nearly 80 per cent truckers in the state have joined a strike called by its national body to protest hike in insurance and traffic penalties... There are apprehensions that the indefinite strike, which commenced from April 1, would lead to a scarcity in availability of perishable goods like vegetables, fruits, fish and eggs, thus leading to increase in prices...
