* Michigan - Four-cylinder version of 2018 Ram 1500 Pickup
--- Fiat Chrysler Automobile’s 2018 Ram 1500 truck was spotted in near Denver with its hood up exposing a new four-cylinder engine... The smaller engine is likely a response to stricter fuel economy standards and will position the pickup to compete head-to-head with the rankings of Ford’s F-150 EcoBoost models... It’s unknown where the four-cylinder engine is built, but it’s possible it derives from the same global family that will power several new FCA products, including the 2018 Jeep Wrangler, which will be turbocharged and produce 300 horsepower... This new Ram 1500, which is likely to debut in its production form at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show, could include direct injection, an integrated water and air charge cooler, a twin-scroll turbocharger, an integrated exhaust manifold and exhaust gas recirculation that would reduce emissions... It will also gain a mild hybrid system with a 48-volt electrical system – a natural place for a turbocharged four-cylinder engine...
