* Lagos - Dangote to establish multimillion dollar truck assembly plant in Nigeria
--- The Dangote Group recently announced the establishment of a $100 million truck assembly plant in Lagos, Nigeria.
In a statement Sunday, the Dangote Group said it is partnering with National Heavy Duty Truck Group Company Limited (SINOTRUCK), China’s state-owned truck manufacturing company, to establish a truck assembly plant, according to Premium Times.
Dangote Group Chief Corporate Communication Officer, Anthony Chiejina said, the plant has a capacity to produce 10,000 trucks annually and has been spending a significant sum on the importation of trucks to distribute its products both locally and across African countries.
The partnership between the Dangote Group and SINOTRUCK was formed in 2014, with the Dangote Group owning a 60 percent stake in the assembly plant while the Chinese truck maker holds the remaining 40 percent...
