* Nebraska - The transportation industry has had a rough ride this year, but hiring drivers still has the green light 

--- While the recession in the transportation industry is now biting trucking firms squarely in the tailpipe, it hasn’t stopped their quest to hire more drivers... Woe is widely reported by trucking firms nationwide, and in Nebraska, with its central location, trucking is a big business... What has not changed is hiring practices. Despite the downturn, operators report no let-up in their drive for more drivers, in an attempt to remedy a persistent shortage of qualified truckers, a deficit exacerbated by the advancing age of the current roster, which is over 50...
