TRUCKS TOLL ANALYSIS * USA: Study says overestimates revenue

* Rhode Islandd - The new study assumed payments about $20 to $25 to pass through the state

-- The Rhode Island Trucking Association says truck tolls in Rhode Island would only generate about half the revenue predicted by the state. That's according to a study the association released Tuesday... The study, by consulting firm IHS Global Insight, projects that truck tolls would generate $24 million to $37.5 million in annual revenue. An economic analysis commissioned by Democratic Gov. Gina Raimondo in October predicted $60 million in annual revenue... The new study is based on the assumption that trucks would pay about $20 to $25 to pass through the state. The toll rates haven't been announced... Rhode Island Trucking Association President Chris Maxwell says the revenue projections built into Raimondo's plan to toll large commercial trucks aren't accurate and will never be realized...
