* Ha Noi - Truck firms face heavy fines for overloading
-- Transport companies using overloaded or oversized cargo tanks to carry excessive cargo could have their business licences revoked, the Ha Noi Department of Transport said... At a press conference on Tuesday, Department Chief Inspector Tran Dang Hai said the department had proposed a number of measures to the Ministry of Transport to end the illegal practise... Transport companies whose trucks did not obey cargo capacity regulations – including deliberately carrying more cargo than allowed or replacing trucks' original tankers with bigger ones – must be forced to stop operations, Hai said... When enterprises were found violating the regulations twice, the department would ask authorised agencies to refuse to grant the enterprises licences until they solved the problem...
