* The manufacturer announced newly extended maintenance intervals
-- Volvo owners got some good news when the manufacturer announced newly extended maintenance intervals for many of its trucks. With less maintenance to keep up with, owners can save thousands of dollars over the life of the truck... The longer intervals apply to diesel engine oil and diesel particulate filters on all model year 2011 and newer Volvo trucks with a Volvo D11, D13 or D16 engine... Under the new intervals, long haul, regional haul and heavy haul operations can all run an additional 10,000 miles on engine oil and filters. That puts the intervals at 45,000 for long haul, 35,000 for regional and 25,000 miles for heavy haul. The intervals only apply as long as owners use engine oils that meet Volvo’s VDS-4 standard. The manufacturer also stipulated that when idle time is greater than 30 percent, operators should comply with the next shorter interval... Stockholm,Sweden -Go By Truck News -February 20, 2015
