* Michigan - Pickup trucks rising, thanks to oil boom

Traverse City,MICH,USA -Automotive News, by Lindsay Chappell -August 6, 2014: -- Full-sized pickup sales are rebounding to big volumes -- even without the complete return of new-home construction... Through the first seven months, U.S. sales of full-sized pickups rose 4 percent to 1.1 million units in an overall market that increased 5 percent. Ford F-series sales were up slightly to 429,065 vehicles.. . Chrysler's Ram brand led the gainers with a 19 percent surge to 239,481 units. Chevy Silverado sales fell 1 percent to 282,776 units... The segment generated sales of 1.91 million units in 2013. It topped 2.1 million in 2007, and then collapsed to 1.1 million in 2009, according to the Automotive News Data Center...


* Ontario - New Isuzu NPR-XD Truck

With a gross vehicle weight rating of 16,000 lb... The new diesel model meets a number of vocational applications and requirements. °  Hood-mounted mirrors for the 108SD and 114SD, said to be ideal for plow applications. Hood-mounted and heated or non-heated, with a tripod-style mirror base. 
°  A new rock guard for 108SD and 114SD models is designed for the harsh environments found in severe-duty applications such as dump, plow, and mixer, the rock guard protects the exposed region of the radiator between the grille and bumper. 
°  Remote start/stop for the M2 106, M2 112, 108SD and 114SD with manual transmissions to benefit fuel economy and performance. - Watson and Chalin lift-axle suspensions are now available on all Freightliner severe-duty trucks. Designed for use with single tires, these suspensions offer durability and maneuverability, and can quickly change ride height. 
°  And an Hendrickson AeroClad 12-in. 'Logger Style' bumper is available for the 122SD, a lightweight chrome affair with cut-outs for a center tow, driving lights, and fog lights...
