Geneve,Switzerland -Gizmag, by Mike Hanlon -March 6, 2011: -- We're a little non-plussed on Porsche's announcement of a reconstructed Semper Vivus, which it is claiming was presented at the Paris Show of 1900. The Semper Vivus was a series electric hybrid with its two engines charging the batteries and Porsche electric hub motors delivering the power. More details as they come to hand, though an excellent photo gallery in the meantime... Before we get to the full write-up, there's also an announcement by Porsche that the "Semper Vivus" was the first dual-power vehicle in the history of mankind...

Durhan,NC,USA -Trucker Steve -March 6, 2011: -- Japan has taken an early lead in the market for gasoline-electric hybrid cars, but the United States is poised to take the lead in the hybrid truck market. According to a recent Duke University study, more than 30 US states have hybrid truck manufacturing, assembly or research and development operations. As VOA’s Rosanne Skirble reports, the study concludes that with the right policies in place, the US hybrid truck industry should continue to expand — generating badly needed jobs and reducing air pollution...
