* China - Truck Group’s Jan. Sales Jump 300%

Jinan city,Shandong Province,China -Transport Topics (USA) -9 Feb 2010: -- China National Heavy Duty Trunk Group Co., that country’s largest heavy truck producer, sold 16,653 vehicles in January, up more than 300% from a year earlier... The company, the state-owned parent of Sinotruk Hong Kong Ltd. and CNHTC Jinan Truck Co., produced 18,032 heavy trucks in January, rising by 321.5%, the company said in a filing to the Shenzhen Stock Exchange... * Sweden - Scania Q4 profit drops 45 pct but beats forecasts

Stockholm,Sweden -Business Week -3 Feb 2010: -- Swedish truck maker Scania AB on Wednesday posted a 45 percent plunge in fourth-quarter profits due to falling sales and prices but said demand for trucks had stabilized after a steep drop... Net profit was 822 million kronor ($113 million), down from 1.5 billion kronor in the same three months a year earlier. Sales decreased to 18.4 billion kronor, from 22.7 billion kronor in the fourth quarter of 2008... The results were better expected and Scania shares surged nearly 9 percent to 1.01 kronor (14 cents) in Stockholm... ABG Sundal Collier analyst Christer Fredriksson said he was particularly impressed by how Scania -- which last year cut its work force by 2,500 to about 32,000 workers -- had managed to trim costs...


* Sweden - Volvo Reports Net Loss But Sees Signs Of Recovery

Stockholm,Sweden -Dow Jones, by Karl Bruze -8 Feb 2010: -- AB Volvo Friday reported a fifth consecutive quarterly net loss and scrapped its dividend but said it saw signs of recovery in some markets and posted a rise in orders... Truck companies like Volvo and Swedish peer Scania AB reduced production in response to plummeting orders last year when customers cut back on new purchases... Volvo, which sells trucks under the Mack, Renault and UD Trucks brands as well as its own name, reported a net order intake of 38,166 trucks in the fourth quarter, up from 31,998 the previous quarter. In December, Volvo delivered at total of 5,643 trucks... Johansson said it is becoming increasingly clear that the global economy is improving. Stabilization is seen in Europe and North America, whereas there is recovery in South America and parts of Asia...


* UK - Peugeot's strong LCV sales performance

London,UK -HGV UK - February 5, 2010: -- Peugeot’s strong LCV sales performance in 2009 has continued with a “van-tastic” result in January and a record market share of 9.54%... A total of 1,137 light commercial vehicles were sold by Peugeot in January, up 59.2% compared to January 2009, in an LCV market down 2.5%. This excellent performance builds on the strong performance in 2009 which saw Peugeot report the smallest overall decline in LCV sales of 15.1% in a market down 35.2%...
