Registrations * UK - New ones, continue to tumble
London,UK -HGV Ireland -November 6, 2009: -- New truck and van registrations continued on a downward spiral last month, figures produced by the Society of Motor Manufacturer’s and Traders (SMMT) confirm... Trucks at 1,755 were down 63 per cent for the month and 37.5 per cent for the year to date. LCV registrations at 16,576 were down nearly 28 per cent for the month and nearly 39 per cent for the year to date... “New van and heavy commercial vehicle registrations continue to fall, reflecting the low level of demand across the UK economy. * Ireland - HGV / LCV registrations continue to plummet
Dublin,Ireland -HGV Ireland -November 5, 2009: -- New HGV and LCV registrations continue to plummet on the back of the recession with just 48 trucks registered in October, down 65.2 per cent on the same period last year... Year to date figures show a 70.4 per cent decline (1,015) compared to the same period in 2008 (3,427)... Light Commercial Vehicle registrations for October 2009 (448) are down 52.5 per cent on the same period last year (943)... The year to date figure at 8,806 is 70% down on the first ten months of last year (29,335)...
