INFRASTRUCTURES * Canada - Transportation Minister Announces Opening Of Trans Canada
Both lanes of the Trans Canada Highway east of Winnipeg are open to traffic once again
Winnipeg,Manitoba,CAN -AM 1250/ Mix 96 FM News/Steinbach online -23 October 2009: ... Manitoba Transportation Minister, Ron Lemieux, stood at Deacon's Corner Friday morning to officially announce the opening... The eastbound Trans Canada had been closed during the summer months while construction crews redeveloped those lanes. That work is now complete... The second phase of the project will take place next year which involves reconstruction of the westbound lanes from Highway #12 to Deacon's Corner. Minister Lemieux says improving this stretch of highway not only benefits the trucking industry but also all the commuters that travel from Steinbach to Winnipeg or vice versa...
