TRUCKMAKERS' NEWS * India - Tata Motors' World Truck breaks cover!
For the first time ever, Tata Motors showed off its much awaited World Truck range to eyes outside the company
Jamshedpur,Jharkhand,India -The India Times/ZigWheels, by Muntaser Mirkar -28 May 2009: -- Their original plan was to conceptualise a commercial vehicle that they could sell the world over and by extension improve the quality of the industry back home as well. What followed was a rigorous process of observing, calculating, developing and designing a truly world class product. What really makes Tata's recent range of trucks truly world class though is that the effort behind the design and development has gone through from around the globe. The look and feel of the trucks is courtesy Stile Bertone - one of the most famous Italian design houses known to the automotive world...Development for individual components was carried out with expertise from global partners based in America and Europe as well as in India... As Tata Motors revealed, the World Truck range will be completely built based on specific applications of its customers - and a whopping 200 combinations are already in place with the capability to churn out almost 1000 combinations as per individual needs. But the evident advantages that Tata's World Trucks offer don't end at individuality and adaptability alone. With engines ranging from 150PS to 560PS, these trucks with capacities from 10 tonnes to 75 tonnes will run faster, better and more efficiently at the same time keeping their drivers fatigue-free as well. With a fully air conditioned cabin equipped with adjustable seats and steering wheel apart from creature comforts generally seen in passenger cars - that sounds totally believable. Tata Motors reckons that will also translate into higher profits for operators and rightly so...
