Lake Tahoe,NEV,USA -MSNBC -14 Feb 2009: -- A winter storm is hitting the Lake Tahoe area making driving difficult in the higher elevations... Trucks are being screened on Interstate 80 westbound 5 miles west of Reno. Motorists must have chains to proceed. Permit loads are prohibited... Eastbound traffic is closed to trucks in California at Applegate in Placer County due to snow. Motorists are advised to use an alternate route... The strongest snowstorm of the season is on track to move into the Sierra on Sunday, according to Wholey. We could see the highest snow accumulations for the entire year...
