CONVICTED * Germany - Former Deutsche Post CEO, Zumwinkel, Convicted of Tax Evasion

The court suspended a two-year prison sentence and imposed a $1.3 million fine on the former Deutsche Post CEO... Zumwinkel was arrested last year in front of news cameras and resigned from his position. He immediately repaid back taxes of $5.1 million and admitted his offense. When his trial opened last week, he repeated his admission of evading just under $1.3 million in taxes between 2002 and 2006. He described his method of putting money into a foundation in Liechtenstein to avoid taxes. "It was the biggest mistake of my life," he said.
