The truckers were raising money for the Make-a-Wish Foundation while giving 10 wide-eyed children suffering from life- threatening diseases the ride of their young lives
Chambersburg,PA,USA -The Chambersburg Public Opinion, by VICKY TAYLOR -9 June 2008: -- Truckers sometimes project a tough image, and most readily admit that other drivers aren't really enamored with them. It was different Saturday, however, as the drivers of 60 big rigs went on the road for a good cause... "People might hate us any other time, but today they love us," said Ray North, a driver with Equipment Transport of Camp Hill... The reason: The truckers were raising money for the Make-a-Wish Foundation while giving 10 wide-eyed children suffering from life- threatening diseases the ride of their young lives... The event was the 6th Annual Franklin County Truck Convoy, an event in which youngsters whose lives usually revolve around medical treatment and doctor's offices are treated to a few hours of fun, and a ride around Franklin County in the front seat of a big rig...
