Cascade Sierra Solutions (CSS) is celebrating the expansion of their Outreach Centers to the Portland area
Portland,OR,USA -Truck Net, by Craig Zwiener -June 13, 2008: -- ... CSS is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving fuel and reducing emissions from heavy-duty diesel engines. This exciting new showroom concept unites truck operators with government agencies, equipment suppliers, and finance programs to get clean diesel technologies on trucks, save big on fuel costs, and stay compliant with new, more stringent emission standards... Skyrocketing fuel costs in 2008 are threatening to shut down many small trucking businesses. By installing EPA SmartWay certified equipment, drivers can cut fuel requirements by as much as 20%, or over $10,000 per year. Encouraging fuel reduction strategies not only saves money but also helps to improve air quality. To date, CSS has assisted over 1300 trucks save 2.5 million gals of fuel (3.75 Olympic-sized swimming pools) and eliminate 25,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions... Says CEO Sharon Banks, "Working together, I am confident that we can save 1.5 billion gallons of fuel, 15 million tons of carbon, reduce air pollution, and add $4.5 billion back into the economy."... Much of that $4.5 billion goes to mom & pop operators that are struggling to stay in business...
