Darwin,Australia -ATN -10 April 2008: -- Construction is to begin on extending Tiger Brennan Drive in the Northern Territory in an effort to reduce traffic congestion and streamline freight transport... Federal Transport Minister Anthony Albanese met with Northern Territory Infrastructure Minister Delia Lawrie today as construction started on the $110 million project... It will duplicate lanes on Berrimah Road between Tiger Brennan Drive and Wishart Road and create dual turning lanes to address the congestion experienced there during peak hours... Albanese says the project will ease congestion and prepare Darwin and Palmerston for the challenges of the 21st century...
