New York,NY,USA -Associated Press/Forbes -7 Feb 2008: -- Shares of trucking companies mostly rose Thursday, as an analyst suggested that better-than-expected earnings from transportation logistics provider Hub Group Inc. bodes well for the struggling freight market... Hub Group reported fourth-quarter and full-year results that beat Wall Street's expectations after the market closed Wednesday, and also said it expects to match analysts' predictions for 2008... Baird analyst Jon Langenfeld called Hub's report "impressive," citing strong growth in its intermodal segment - which involves moving freight from one method of transportation to another. Intermodal sales rose 2 percent in the fourth-quarter - rebounding from a 5 percent decline in the third quarter - driven by improved volumes in the Eastern U.S...
