Houston,TX,USA _Land Line Magazine -October 31, 2007: -- A proposed city ordinance in Houston that would put stiff new fees on certain trucks would cause the loss of more than 20,000 jobs and create more than $1 billion in economic damage, according to a study by the Port of Houston Authority... The proposed city ordinance would establish new permit fees for overweight and oversize trucks ranging from $145 for a single trip to more than $1,200 for a two-year permit...
