Travel on Freeways * USA - Does Washington need more limits on where big trucks can?

Other states are adopting or exploring tighter restrictions on truck traffic

Bellingham,WA,USA -The Bellingham Herald, by DEAN KAHNTHE -Nov, 12, 2007: -- Are there stretches of the freeway where big trucks and cars just don’t mix well?... In Florida, big trucks are banned from the left lane on a 60-mile stretch of a busy freeway... Georgia is considering truck-only toll lanes for some freeways... Other states are looking into the idea of truck-only lanes for some areas... In Washington, semis aren’t allowed in the left lane of Interstate 5 in some places where there are three lanes and no exits from the inside lane... Truck-only lanes aren’t likely in Washington because they cost a bundle and the state has other priorities... (Photo from truckin-stuff.com)
