The trucking industry explains that they have the same rights to the roads as other drivers, that the state and the nation is dependant on them and that commercial products need to be transported and delivered being an essential part of our economy. This is all true, but deliveries times to any economic sector could be altered and moved to non-busy hours, such as very early mornings and very late nights. The businesses would be made to accommodate these off-hours deliveries. There could be no arguments and reasons against this simple solution. By implementing these rules, traffic will be reduced by 50 and probably as high as 65%. The reaped rewards as a result, would be worth millions to all, including better living conditions, mental health, increased productivity, less smog and unhealthy air, less oil usage, and for the best part, a much nicer and gentler citizenry…Labels: traffic jams
