HOS DEBATE * USA - 40% of poll respondents favor 11-hour driving period

Almost 40 percent of the respondents to a recent poll on www.thetrucker.com indicated that they favored the current 11-hour driving period

Little Rock,ARK,USA -The Trucker -18 Sept 2007: -- ... Answering the question, “What do you think are the maximum number of hours a trucker should be allowed to drive within any given 24-hour period,” 365 or 39.5 percent, of the 926 respondents said 11 hours... Two hundred and sixty or 28 percent, responded that a trucker should be allowed to drive more than 11 hours in a 24-hour period; 213 or 23 percent, opted for 10 hours and 88 or 9.5 percent, said a trucker should be allowed to drive no more than eight hours in a 24-hour period...
