* Japan - Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus to suspend most Japan output
Tokyo,Japan -MarketWatch (CAL,USA), by Kazuhiro Shimamura -Jul 19, 2007: -- Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corp., a truck-making unit of DaimlerChrysler AG, said Thursday it will suspend most of its Japan production on Friday and Saturday due to a shortage of engine parts from an earthquake-hit supplier... It is unclear whether the company can fully resume production next week, but the 450-vehicle cut should be easy to recover once it procures enough parts... Mitsubishi Fuso purchases engine piston rings from Riken Corp., which has been forced to suspend operations due to damage caused by the powerful earthquake in northwest Japan Monday...


* Sweden - Volvo to Buy MAN - Again
Stockholm,Sweden -Forbes (NY,USA) -19 July 2007: -- Volvo no comment on MAN bid rumour, but notes 2 cos' high combined mkt share... AB Volvo declined comment on rumours it is considering bidding for German rival MAN AG, but suggested that if the two truckmakers did combine they would face significant antitrust problems... The rumour, which circulated in Frankfurt this morning, drove MAN to close to the top of the DAX
leaderboard...
