* Germany - Mitsubishi Fuso Canter to get Fiat engine
Germany -Road Transport (UK) -22 June 2007: -- DaimlerChrysler and Fiat Powertrain Technologies (FPT) have agreed a major supply deal, which will see the Fuso Canter fitted with an FPT engine from 2009... FPT will supply around 80,000 F1C engines a year to Mitsubishi Fuso, with volumes increasing over time. The engine is a common-rail unit, rated at 177hp at 3,500 rpm and with 400Nm of torque at 1,400 rpm. * Germany - MAN Seeks Tripling of Russian Business, May Build CIS Facility
Germany -Road Transport (UK) -19 June 2007: -- MAN expects to see its Russian business triple this year, with this report predicting sales of 4,000 trucks during 2007, up from the 1,570 vehicles sold during 2006. The company may also open an assembly plant in Russia - 'sooner or later'... MAN forecasts industry-wide truck sales within the Commonwealth of Independent States, an association of former Soviet republics including Russia, will grow 80 percent to 180,000 vehicles annually in 2010 from 100,000 in 2005... We remain a bit uncertain of this forecast; it does seem very optimistic, and much of the growth seen at present is just that - growth...

Stockholm,Sweden -Road Transport (UK) -19 June 2007: -- Deputy chief executive Jorma Halonen said the realisation of the synergies from the Nissan Diesel acquisition are going 'slightly ahead of plan' and will surpass the expected annual €200 million after five years... Halonen said he believes Nissan Diesel can 'double' its export volumes. In 2006, Nissan Diesel exported around 23,000 trucks, around 3,000-6,000 more trucks than the domestic sales...
