DRIVERS' JOBS * Canada - First Nations recruited for trucking industry
Prince George,British Columbia,Canada -The Prince George Citizen, by GORDON HOEKSTRA -23 May 2007: -- A north-central B.C. aboriginal training group and the B.C. Trucking Association on Tuesday agreed to work together to examine marketing trucking as a career to First Nations communities... B.C. Trucking Association president and CEO Paul Landry said, the trucking industry can accommodate virtually any lifestyle choice, including a nine-to-five job or a more adventurous one. "For the right people, a rewarding career in the trucking industry is a real opportunity," he said. "We are a growing industry. We provide a vital and important service. We are the lifeblood of the economy"... McLeod Lake Indian Band chief Alec Chingee, who attended the ceremony, said he believed the co-operative move was long overdue.
