* USA - C.H. Robinson’s Fourth-Quarter, Full-Year Income Show Gains
USA -TTNews -30 Jan 2007: -- Transportation and logistics firm C.H. Robinson Worldwide's 2006 net income rose to $266.9 million or $1.53 a share, up from $203.4 million or $1.16 in 2005... Net income for the fourth-quarter rose to $71.8 million or 41 cents a share, up from $58.1 million or 33 cents a year earlier, the company said late Tuesday... Total transportation gross profit for the year increased 24.1% from 2005 to $946 million, while fourth-quarter transportation gross profit rose 19.5% to $246.2 million...

* Japan - Hino Motors’ Fiscal Third-Quarter Profit Falls 45% - Company Seen Targeting North American Markets
USA -TTNews /Bloomberg-31 Jan 2007: -- Hino Motors Ltd., Japan’s largest maker of heavy-duty trucks, saw its fiscal third-quarter profit drop 45% as the company spent more to develop new models and expand production... Net income fell to about $32.4 million for the period ended Dec. 31, from about $58.7 million a year earlier, while sales rose 4.3% to about $2.5 billion. The third-quarter figures were derived by subtracting first-half earnings from nine-month results released by the company Tuesday... The Japanese domestic truck market is expected to shrink this year as fleet operators finish replacing their trucks to meet new emissions rules...

* USA - Earnings - Paccar posts record 2006 profit
Seattle,WASH,USA -The Seattle Times, by Drew DeSilver -31 Jan 2007: -- A rush by trucking firms to beat tough new engine-emissions rules translated into a record 2006 profit for Bellevue-based Paccar... The company, which builds heavy-duty trucks under the Kenworth, Peterbilt and DAF nameplates, earned nearly $1.5 billion last year, 32 percent more than the $1.13 billion it made in 2005. Truck sales, lease income and other revenue rose 17 percent to nearly $16.5 billion...
