New Rules - Australia - Nationals cast doubt over transport changes

Australia - ABC Online -June 14, 2006: -- The Minister for Planning and Infrastructure says new heavy haulage transport permits will run for three years instead of one and B-double rigs will have access to more than 4,000 roads across Western Australia... It was revealed in April it that many wheatbelt farmers and truck drivers were facing the prospect of carting fertiliser and seed illegally, after confusion between shires and the Department of Main Roads over permits... Larger animal transport trucks are also now allowed, with 4.6 metre high trailers permitted on some roads...
