The Selective Catalytic Reduction system which Japan has mandated to control emissions, injects a urea solution into the emissions stream to neutralize nitrogen oxide in diesel exhaust. Urea is an ammonia-based liquid, also present in urine. When injected into a catalytic reduction system under high heat it neutralizes nitrogen oxide, or NOx...
