Report - UK - More Foreign Trucks on UK Roads
USA -World Trade -Apr 6, 2006: -- The latest transportation statistics for 2005 indicate an increase in the number of foreign trucks working on UK roads... The UK’s Freight Transport Association (FTA) estimates that over one in ten of the heaviest vehicles operating in the UK come from overseas. And, most of the new traffic is coming from the new EU accession states, which joined in May 2004... Their numbers jumped by 62 percent last year compared to a 4 percent drop from other EU member states...
