Profit - China - Dongfeng Auto 1Q net fell 31.8%
SHANGHAI,China -MarketWatch -Apr 20, 2006: -- Dongfeng Automobile Co., a China-based maker of light trucks and diesel engines, Thursday said its net profit in the first quarter fell 31.8% from a year earlier amid a slump in China's heavy-duty truck market... Net profit in the first quarter fell to CNY99.8 million from CNY146.4 million in the same period last year. Core revenue rose to CNY2.51 billion from CNY2.13 billion... Its vehicle sales in the first quarter rose 27.2% from a year earlier to 31,243 units, but its engine sales fell 37.2% to 21,821 units, said Dongfeng in its earning statement...

dongfeng is doing great in china..but it would be nice to see them take strides abroad like gwm and geely etc
