CHISINAU,Ukrainia -Itar-Tass -Mar 5, 2006: -- The Ukrainians of Moldova’s breakaway Dniester region have sent a telegram to Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko and parliament Speaker Vladimir Litvin requesting them to call off the economic blockade, the chairman of the Dniester region’s Union of Ukrainians, told journalists on Sunday... Tiraspol assesses Ukraine’s actions as the beginning of the large-scale economic blockade, Dniester Region President Igor Smirnov said at the urgent governmental meeting... In retaliation the Dniester region decided to stop Moldova’s goods in transit to Russia and Ukraine and take other countersteps in the near future...
