Fines - Europe - EU levies 50 million-euro fine on French automaker Peugeot
BRUSSELS, Belgium -The Detroilt News/AP, by Aoife White -Oct 5, 2005: -- European Union regulators on Wednesday, fined French carmaker Automobiles Peugeot SA and its Dutch arm Peugeot Nederland NV, with 49.5 million euros ($59 million) for blocking Dutch car exports to other EU countries... The European Commission said Peugeot, found the company guilty of breaking EU antitrust law by preventing car dealers from selling exports to consumers outside the Netherlands between 1997 and 2003...
