Troubles - Canada - Blitz reveals 'problem' with rental trucks
TORONTO,ONT,CAN -NATIONAL POST -August 10, 2005: -- A month-long inspection blitz of rental trucks in Ontario found what the government calls "a clear problem" with industry safety standards, especially with U-Haul... Ministry of Transportation inspectors looked at 693 rental trucks between July 11 and August 5, and took 74 of them out of service because of mechanical defects... Fifty-eight of the 74 vehicles found to be unfit for the road were owned by U-Haul, which had a near 20 per cent failure rate...
