Fuel Prices - UK - Top Priority for Freight Transport Association
UK -Transport News Network -Aug 2005: -- A survey of lorry operators by the Freight Transport Association has found that the need to reduce fuel duty is the top policy priority looked for by the road transport industry... The target came out five times higher than the second placed need to retain the current flexibility provided in the operating regulations in the Working time Directive, which restricts drivers to a 48 hour week, and nearly twelve times higher than the third placed target of attracting more drivers into the industry... A supplementary question asked whether FTA should maintain its campaign to bring fuel duty for trucks in line with Irish and continental levels...
