After all, no matter what their profession, Europeans work fewer hours. But a recent attempt to increase the average U.S. trucker’s workday from 14 to 16 hours — by adding two hours for breaks and other non-driving activities — was striking... In Europe, trucks make up 16.5% of total highway traffic, while they account for only 7.5% of U.S. highway traffic...
