During the peak of the ports' congestion crisis in fall 2004, with holiday cargo arriving en masse from Asia, those same shippers needed 38,000 shifts a week... Roughly 6.5million 40-foot-long containers arrived at the ports, and half those boxes were sent to destinations outside of Southern California... With projections of a 12 to 15 percent increase in cargo volume this year ... "What will be the crisis this year?"... The overwhelming response?
