* Sweden - Volvo Re-evaluates Prod Hikes As May Truck Deliveries Drop 

Copenhagen,Sweden -Dow Jones Newswires/Fox Business -June 18, 2012: -- Swedish truck maker Volvo AB Monday said it is evaluating if announced production rate increases will be implemented as planned given the current economic uncertainty, as it reported a 3% drop in total truck deliveries in May compared with last year, driven by weakness in Western Europe...

* Volvo's Trucks Deliveries May 2012 

 - Total May truck deliveries for all brands, including Volvo, Mack, Renault, UD and Eicher, amounted to 19,734 vehicles, down from 20,258 vehicles a year earlier.
 - European deliveries fell 17% to 7,481 trucks from 9,006 vehicles, with an 8% increase in Eastern Europe failing to offset a 23% drop in Western Europe.
 - North American truck deliveries rose 31% to 4,677 trucks from 3,571 vehicles.
 - In South America, deliveries fell 19% to 1,982 trucks from 2,435 vehicles, weighed down by the implementation of new emissions regulations requiring Euro V technology, as well as the slow economic growth in Brazil and Argentina.
 - Deliveries for light-duty truck fell 37% to 1,388 while they increased 12% for medium-duty truck to 2,781 and remained flat for heavy-duty vehicles at 15,566 ...


* India - TaMo unleashes CVs to stall Navistar, Benz

Mumbai,India -DNA, by Yuga Chaudhari -Jun 18, 2012: -- Tata Motors, the country’s top truck maker, has lined up an aggressive plan to combat intensifying competition in the commercial vehicle market, which is seeing a slowdown in sales... As it prepares to take on new entrants such as Mahindra Navistar and Bharat Benz, the company will launch 50 products this year in the domestic market across all its CV segments, a company official said... The products will be launched across all segments — light commercial vehicles (LCVs), medium and heavy commercial vehicles (M and HCVs), Prima range and buses. These will include variants of the existing products and some completely new ones. The new products will include trucks and buses on the Y1 platform and start coming in the market around September-October. The company is also planning to invest around Rs1,500 crore in its CV operations...


* Malaysia - Isuzu eyes sale of 12,000 pick-up trucks, commercial vehicles

Alor Setar,Malaysia -The Star Online -June 18, 2012: -- Isuzu Malaysia Sdn Bhd aims to sell 12,000 units of pick-up trucks and commercial vehicles by year-end, said chief executive officer, Kimithoshi Kurokawa... He said the company also planned to open five more 3S (sales, services and spare parts) outlets this year... Kurokawa said Isuzu sold 3,268 units of commercial vehicle and 5,961 units of pick-up trucks last year. In fact, demand for our trucks has been growing at a double-digit rate since we re-introduced our trucks in 2010...

Trucks may emit lower air pollution emissions than cars per equivalent vehicle mass, although the absolute level per vehicle distance traveled is higher, and diesel particulate matter is especially problematic for health I got the interior and exterior parts fitting properly.
