Protest rally in Chehalis, WA Set for Saturday
Napavine,WASH,USA - The Chronicle (Chehalis, WA) -June 20, 2008: -- Truckers throughout Southwest Washington are again set to strike against high fuel prices... A fuel boycott will be held on the west side of Interstate 5’s exit 72, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, featuring a performance by Singin’ Sam Little playing “Trucker Shutdown.”... Diesel in the region has hit nearly $5.10 per gallon, and truck drivers are paying over $1,200 to fill their fuel tanks, a press release on the strike stated. This is the second fuel strike held at exit 72 in three months. In mid-April, when the last strike was held, the average price of diesel in the state was $4.15 a gallon; organizers stated, at that time, that diesel had been just $3.03 in April of 2007... Clarion County,PA,USA -Land Line Magazine, by David Tanner -June 20, 2008: -- Residents along Interstate 80 in Clarion County, PA, plan on forming a large conga line later this month to protest a state law calling for the route to be tolled... The chosen form of protest may seem silly, organizers admit, but the cause is serious... The Clarion Area Chamber of Business and Industry is the other chief sponsor of the event... The line will begin forming at 9 a.m., Saturday, June 28, at Trinity Point at Monroe Park at I-80 and Route 68. Participants and drummers are wanted, Ehrhart said...
